Wendy (Mimi) Age 66 of Remer, Mn passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones June 14, 2024, at St. Luke's hospital in Duluth, MN.
Wendy was born December 8, 1957, to parents, Wilferd and Marcella (Sally) Nagel in Hutchinson, MN. She grew up on her family farm in Ceder Mills Township. She found a love for hard work and determination while working the farm alongside her parents and family. She was the youngest of 5 children.
Wendy went on to get her LPN Nursing License and worked as a loving, dedicated caregiver in many different settings; from hospitals to nursing homes. During that time, she met her loving husband of 43 years, Christopher (Chris) Dixon. They were married November 29th, 1980, in Rockford, MN. They eventually settled in Montrose, MN to raise their family.
Wendy was a devoted wife, mother, and caregiver to those who knew her. She took on the care of her husband after a terrible accident in 1998 until the time of her passing. Wendy was a nurturing person through and through. Over the years she accumulated many young adults who would come to know her as Ma. She loved them all like they were her own and set them straight like they were also. With having so many young adults that surrounded her she became Mimi (Grandma) to many grand babies
In 2020, Wendy moved to the north woods along with her daughter and husband to live out her dream of being closer to God's Country. Wendy loved anything to do with the outdoors, from fishing, riding the four-wheelers, and driving around the forest roads with friends and family, to sitting peacefully on her deck overlooking the property and her flower gardens that she took much pride in.
Wendy’s most precious joy that she got to have the role in was helping to raise her granddaughters, Maci and Kelly, instilling her love for nature, outdoors, life, hard work, and determination. Also, her love for rocks.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilferd and Marcella Nagel, and her sister, Diane Nagel.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Dixon; daughter, Sarah Dixon (Julian Kitchenhoff); grandchildren, Maci Dixon, Kelly Stoppelman, Paisley Peters, Janessa Hamlin, and Ethan Riehle; siblings, Carol Hoff, Duane Nagel, and Karen Kurth; many nieces and nephews; her adopted family, Pam Peters, Chris Stoppelman, David Wilke, Steve Peters, Becky Schmeig, Shari Dixon, Ryan Spike, and Jackie & Dave Kitchenhoff.
Mom will be deeply missed by many friends, family, and loved ones who hold her dear to their heart. She touched many people's lives and left a lasting impression on them all.
There will be a celebration of life and memorial at a later time in Aug 2024, in Remer, MN.
