Winifred "Winnie" Stranne, 97, of Brainerd, formerly of Pine River, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Brainerd Woodland Good Samaritan Home.
She was born on November 6, 1912 to Carl and Hattie (Hall) Lundquist in Kintyre, North Dakota.
Winnie owned and operated Popular Point Resort "Winnies Place" on Ossawinnamakee Lake. She was a member of the Eradelphian Club and enjoyed playing piano, putting jig-saw puzzles together, gardening and taking trips. One of Winnie's specialties was cooking wonderful meals for large family gatherings. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Pine River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Neal Anderson and Clarence Stranne; and brother, Byron Lundquist.
Winnie is survived by her son, Jim Anderson (Patti) of Brainerd; daughter, Mona King (Dennis) of Walker; stepson, John Stranne (Jeanne) of Pine River; 1 grand daughter and 2 step grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, at First Lutheran Church in Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
