Wilmar Shequen

May 9, 1932 — July 10, 2017

Wilmar “Bill” Shequen, 85, of Motley, MN passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, MN. Services for Bill will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples, with Pastor Saul Stensvaag officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Motley Public Cemetery.

Bill was born May 9, 1932 in Leader, MN to Marvin and Beulah (Deline) Shequen. He graduated from Motley High School and then worked out of town in construction for awhile. Bill married Carolyn Jean Bressem, and they lived in Leader. He then moved to Silver Bay and worked for a taconite company and then to Princeton, where he worked for 10 years in the Metro area before moving to Waite Park and working for the Sartell Paper Mill, as a Millwright, where he retired. Bill returned to Motley after his retirement. He enjoyed collecting agates, hunting, boating, fishing, 4 wheeling, and he loved the West and cowboys. He was a member of the Masons.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Luann (Kirk) Danzl of Maple Grove, MN, Michelle Shequen of Sartell, MN; five grandchildren, Allison, Kalvin, Thor, Rory and Angelica; siblings, Marvin (Rosemarie) Shequen of Glenwood, MN, Margaret (Chuck) Knapper of Northfield, MN, Don (Joann) Shequen of Litchfield, MN, and Rich (Jan) Shequen of Lake City, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Beulah. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
