William “Bill” F. Albrecht, age 78, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 1-4 PM at Eagles Club in Brainerd, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
Bill was born on May 23, 1942 in Chicago, IL to William and Sarah (Thyfault) Albrecht. He moved from Carpentersville, IL to Brainerd in 1976. Bill married Bonnie Ogren in Brainerd on March 22, 1997. Bill worked as an over the road trucker until his retirement. He was proud of his brotherhood in the truck driving industry and taught his son to make a gourmet meal from the steam of an engine. He enjoyed racing, guns, flea markets, garage sales, dirty jokes, and being a self-proclaimed “Master Gardner.” Bill was quirky, funny, and enjoyed making others laugh. He was a people person and could carry on a conversation with a stranger for hours. Bill taught his family the importance of caring for your family, the meaning of a good dad, never give up when life gets tough, and always take time to laugh. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bonnie of Brainerd; children, Denise (Glen) Pierce of Ironton, Holly (Todd) Kramer of Baxter, Will (Lori) Albrecht of Brainerd, Sandy (Ron Gibson) Spielman of Brainerd, Kim Nelson of Aitkin, Milissa (Chuck Goering) Berg of Bigfork; brother, Dennis (Jan) Albrecht of Hanover Park, IL; 21 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and four legged companion, Poppy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
