William "Bill" Abbott

September 11, 1934 — December 19, 2021

William Byron Abbott, 87, of Crosslake, MN, died peacefully in his home on December 19, 2021, after a courageous five-year battle with lung cancer.

Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vicki, two sons, John (Michele) and Jim (Denise), a daughter Jeanne (Tom), two stepsons, Joe (Jessica) and Brian (Teresa), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rachel (Whitford), and two sisters, Dorothy and Jackie.

Bill was born on September 11, 1934 and grew up in Southwest Minneapolis. He served honorably in the Navy during the Korean War. After his retirement from Graco Inc, Bill moved to the Crosslake, MN area where he enjoyed the lake life, and his passion of golf, where he made many great friends. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, which will be greatly missed.

Bill’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving support and care.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on June 3, 2022 at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN. There will be a visitation at 10:00am, and the service will begin at 11:00am.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
