William A. Yezek, 93, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 15, 10:30 a.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church in Onamia, with Father David Galas officiating. Friends may visit at the church for the hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
William Adolph Yezek was born August 5, 1911 in St. Paul son of John and Anna (Novak) Yezek. William owned the ?Village Bootery? in Highland Park for many years. He was united in marriage to Helen Metzger in 1932 in Brookings, SD. After the death of his first wife, Helen, he was united in marriage to Laura Guindon on January 6, 1966 in West St. Paul. After his retirement they lived in Arizona for 29 years, moving back to Brainerd in November of 2003 because of failing health. He was a scout master, a member of St. Matthew?s Church for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than forty years.
William is survived by his wife, Laura; sons Bill (Kathy), of Woodbury, and Tom (Pat), of Garrison; stepchildren Juanita Risky, of KY, and Jay Flack, of CA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His parents, his first wife, Helen, and a son, Jim preceded him in death.
