William Smith

William J. Smith died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Lakewood Care Center in Staples.

William was born to Leo and Vivian (Riley) Smith on July 19,1938 in Minneapolis, MN, where he also grew up. He was united in marriage to Donna Dukowitz Etzler, on January 13,1993. He retired from working at the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a Truck Driver in 1993, and at that time he moved from Rogers to Motley. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling and fishing in his years of retirement.

He is survived by Donna, his wife of 20 years; children, Tam (Gary), Bon (Greg), Carolyn (Lee), Darlene (Rich), Sue (Jay), Duane; grandchild, Michael; and 2 great-grandchildren; and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; son, Vern; grandson, Jesse.
