William "Bill" J. Rodgers, 70, of Randall, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.
Bill was born in Portland, OR. He spent his early years in Hensel and Cavalier, ND areas. His family moved to the Grafton, ND area where he graduated from high school in 1963. In 1964, he was united in marriage to RoseMary Ebertowski. Throughout his life, Bill had a variety of careers. He was a baker for People's and Wally's Bakeries. He was co-owner of Norge Laundry and Dry Cleaning. In 1979, he founded The Satellite Shop. He was a pioneer in the satellite television industry. Bill had many interests and hobbies. He was the drummer in several area bands: The Red Coats, The Christian Brothers, The Night Shades, and The DuWayne Heyd Band. Gardening was a past time he enjoyed that was passed on to him by his mother. Mostly, Bill loved to tinker with anything electronic.
Bill will be missed by his children, William, II, of Randall, Brenda (John) Brown, of Austin, TX, and Rebecca (Joe) Thompson, of Alliance, NE; grandchildren, William "Willy" Rodgers, III, Ian, Logan, and Tate Thompson, and Makela Brown; brothers: Steve, of Becker, MN; Walter (Susan), of Grand Forks, ND; John, of Grafton, ND; sisters, Anne Tetrault, of Federal Way, WA; Alice Gullickson, of Hoople, ND; and Sherry Rodgers, of Grand Forks, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert, parents, Walter and Sophie Rodgers; and sister, Mary (Rodgers) Brubakken.
Internment will be in the family plot, St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Grafton North Dakota.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
