William James Quirk, age 68, of Breezy Point died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his home in Breezy Point. William was born December 6, 1934 in Lawler, Iowa to William and Marie (Canty) Quirk. He graduated from Lawler High School and went on to further his education at Upper Iowa University. He majored in business. Bill was united in marriage to Ramona Pierce on May 9, 1964 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He worked for Rothchild Financial in St. Paul for many years. He retired in 1988. Following retirement they made their home in Breezy Point. He enjoyed fishing for walleyes and watching sports, especially football. Above all he loved his family and looked forward to time spent with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife Ramona of 39 years; Two daughters: Penni Schneewind and husband Kurt of Prior Lake, MN, Cathy Quirk of Rosemount, MN; Four brothers: Lowell Quirk and Barb Erbe of Rochester, MN,Tom Quirk and wife Louise of Ft. Wayne, IN, Bob Quirk and wife Joan of Breezy Point, MN, Frank Quirk and wife Dorothy of Burnsville, MN; Two Grandchildren Jack and Erin Schneewind of Prior Lake, MN Mother-in-law: Lovena Pierce of Pine River. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
Memorial Services will be Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 11:00 A.M., at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, with Rev. George Zeck officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the William J. Quirk Memorial Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
