William Hinch

November 27, 1932 — October 20, 2012

William "Bill" Hinch, 79, of Pillager, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter to celebrate Bill's life and that he is in heaven building houses with his son, Allen.

He was born on November 27, 1932 in Webb, Iowa to Lloyd and Leaffy (Layman) Hinch. The family moved to the Staples area in 1935. Bill was united into marriage to Marlys (Potter) Johnson on February 3, 1965. As a young man, Bill made many trips to the Pacific Northwest, and later made Washington his home with his family. They returned to the Pillager area in 1980, where Bill created his business, "Hinch Woodworking." Next to his family, Bill loved building houses and could hardly wait to start the next one.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marlys; son, Dale Johnson of Big Fork, Montana; daughter, Robin Hinch; grandchildren, Tyler, Teresa, Kristin and Sarah; brother, Craig (Mary) Hinch; and sister, Sharon (Frank) Dumbeck. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Allen; brothers, Dwight and Lloyd (Sonny); sisters, Lavon and Letha; and infant sister, Jeanne. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
