William Handlos

William Arnold Handlos, 80, of Staples died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at the Staples Care Center. William was born October 14, 1922 in St. Paul, to William F. and Florence Handlos. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul. He enlisted in the US Army and served during WWII, working as an airplane mechanic. Following his honorable discharge he farmed near Aitkin. He also owned and operated a resort in the Aitkin area. He moved to St. Paul to care for his aging mother. Three years ago he became a resident at the Staples Care Center.
William Handlos is survived by his son Gary (Jan) Handlos of Baxter, a brother Richard Handlos of St. Paul, and two grandchildren, Christopher and Patrick Handlos. His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, February 5, 10:00, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Arrangements are by Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
