William Gerhardt

William Gerhardt died Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Motley.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 4, at 4:00 pm at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services.

William David Gerhardt was born to Everett and Lucille (Oberman) Gerhardt on October 17, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN.  He grew up Brainerd, graduating from Brainerd High School with the class of 1966 and draftsman school in Staples in 1968.  He also attended Fort Hays State University and the University of St. Thomas, graduating with a degree in accounting. He was married to Karen Burlingame on October 14, 1969.  He worked as an accountant and prison guard. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors and lived at the family farm after retirement.

He is survived by children Amy Rein (Greg), Faribault, MN, David Gerhardt (Lisa), Brainerd, MN, Dan Gerhardt, Pierre, SD, brother Jim Gerhardt, Minneapolis, MN and sister Ruth Bredemann, Salt Lake City, UT,  five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Fred and John Gerhardt.
