William G. Forsythe, 83, of Crosslake, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Golden Horizon's Assisted Living in Crosslake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Church of the Holy Rosary in Lima, Wisc. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.
William was born July 22, 1929, in Pepin County, WI, the son of Frank and Dorothy (Lowry) Forsythe. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Durand High School. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Komro at the Church of the Holy Rosary. He began his printing career at the Durand Newspaper near Lima before he continued his profession in Eau Claire, WI, Albert Lea, MN, St. Paul, MN and Wayzata, MN. They lived in Golden Valley, MN and following Dorothy's passing in 1990; William retired to Pine Island, FL, Aitkin, MN, and Crosslake, MN.
William enjoyed fishing and reading. He cherished his family and liked spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He will be missed by his children, Jeff (Becky) Forsythe, of Brainerd, MN, Randy (Lisa Chisholm) Forsythe, of Charlotte, NC, Bill (Linda) Forsythe, of Crosslake, MN, Tom (Kelli) Forsythe, of Brainerd, MN, LuAnn (Mike) Messer, of Lakeville, MN, David (Kim) Forsythe, of Moorhead, MN and Joel (Kristin Fox) Forsythe, of Los Angeles, CA; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lyle (Joan) Forsythe, of New Hope, MN, and Lois Taylor, of Webster, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy; and sons, Michael and Anthony.
