William "Bill" Buss, age 78, of Pequot Lakes, died on September 23, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 8, 1933, on the family farm west of Pequot Lakes to Hye and Marie (Johnson) Buss. He served in the U.S. Army, the local fire department for 20 years, church council and was a snowmobile safety instructor. Bill was the first president of the Pequot Brush Pilots Snowmobile Club and helped start the first buddy race in Minnesota. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to share his passions with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn; his four children: Debbie Moyer, Pam (Jim) Jensen, Greg, Kevin (Missy); 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Vern (Linda); and sister, Frances Ginger.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Grace, Charles, Lillian, Arlene; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, October 1, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
