William Eugene Barg, age 83, of rural Pillager passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 15, 2016, as the result of a farming accident. Memorial service will be Tuesday, December 20, at 11 AM, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Motley. Visitation will be at the church during the hour prior to services. Interment will be at Bridgeman Cemetery in the spring.

Bill was born March 22, 1933 in Calhoun County, Iowa, to William and Theresa (Schienbein) Barg. He graduated from Motley High School in 1951. He spent two years in the US Army and, upon his return, attended North Dakota State University, receiving a degree in Architectural Drawing. He worked many construction and carpentry jobs, while always residing on the farm and raising beef cattle and his beloved horses.

Bill is survived by Shirley, his wife of 46 years; two sons, Jason (Jen) and Clayton; and his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor, Nicholas, Tegan, Yasmin, Danielle, Jacob, and Jaydon; his great-granddaughter, Addlyn; and his siblings, Corrine Anderson, of Becker, Luella Knutson, of Pillager, Ronald (Connie) Barg, of DuBois, Idaho, and Virgin (Theresa) Barg, of St. Anthony, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
