Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, MN, with Father Dennis Hoffman officiating. Burial of cremains will follow immediately at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.
Wilfred ?Will? Benedict Leyendecker was born on October 20, 1921, at Eden Valley, MN, the son of Robert and Margaret (Schommer) Leyendecker. He was called from this life Thursday afternoon, Dec. 1, 2004, at his home in Crosslake. He had attained the age of 83 years, 1 month and 11 days.
He grew up in the Paynesville area and graduated from high school there. He served four years in the Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge he attended Dunwoody Technical College. On October 30, 1954, he was united in marriage to Eleanor TaMillo in Minneapolis. To this union 3 sons were born. Will and Eleanor were able to share 50 years of marriage together. He owned and operated Will?s Automatic Transmission Service for 30 years.
Will was a member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, America Legion Post 500 of Crosslake and V.F.W. Post 3839 of Jenkins. Among the things he enjoyed doing were hunting, fishing, golf, and other outdoor sports, and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret; a son, Lee; and siblings, Cyrilla, Clarence, and Leonard. Will is mourned in passing by his wife, Eleanor of Crosslake; sons, Mark and his wife Susan of Plymouth, and Scott and his partner Kim Koch of Burnsville.
