Wendy Jean Bassamore, 57, of Hackensack passed away at home surrounded by the love of her spouse and son on March 15, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Wendy was born on June 8, 1960 in Minneapolis, MN to Bill and Florence (Bullis) Foss and was welcomed home by big siblings Sue and Dave.
Wendy proudly delivered mail for the Pequot Lakes Post Office before retirement in 2014. Wendy loved to spend time with her family. She was the most amazing cook and baker to ensure family had plenty of Christmas cookies, Chex-mix, and ranch pretzels. Her breakfasts will always be legendary! Wendy and Tony restored the family cabin for all to enjoy the beauty of Big Deep Lake. She was the greatest source of fun when at the lake- whether it was relaxing at the beach, making clay hand prints, skiing, going for a boat ride, watching the sunset, or jumping off the docks.
Wendy had a selfless generosity and strong will for helping others and spoiling her loved ones. Among so many other hobbies and subjects she enriched her life with: she loved to garden, read novels, buy movies and declare a movie night, watch the nightly news, play with the dogs (Lucky, Jack, and Stanley), celebrate the holidays, and jog in the mornings.
Wendy's family wishes to thank Holly Raiche who provided excellent care for Wendy over the past years.
Wendy is preceded in death by her parents and friend, Terri Wheeler (AJ's godmother and Wendy's Maid of Honor). Wendy will be missed by her husband, Anthony Bassamore; son, AJ (Bayli) Bassamore; nephew/"son", Eric Bassamore; great nephew/"grandson", Paxton Bassamore; sister, Sue (Dennis) Feller; mother-in-law, Barb Bassamore; brother-in-law, Clyde (Susan) Bassamore; sister-in-law, Wendy (Derek) Gross; nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Darren) Deplazes, Andria (Derek) Larson, Melissa (Andrea) Feller, Jenny Dominguez, Deni, Geno (Stephanie), Danielle, Brandon Bassamore, Dominic, Donovan, Denaya Gross.
