Wendell Ayres

Wendell Ayres, 62, of Brainerd, died at his home Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior. Luncheon to follow in Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room.

Wendell was born December 23, 1954 in Mason City, IA. He was the son of Donald and Arlene (Austin) Ayres. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army. When he was discharged, he began a career in welding in the Twin Cities Area. In 1991, he moved to Brainerd and worked for Lindar Corporation. Wendell enjoyed wood working and displaying his talent at Karaoke nights.

He will be missed by his mom, Arlene (John) Curo, of Hackensack; children, Lisa (Wade) Maki, of Fridley, Gabriel Ayres, of St. Paul, Mandy Butau, of Pillager, Tina Butau, of Pillager, and Jack Ayres, of Coon Rapids; siblings, Don Ayres, of Hibbing, Vicky Yuker, of WI, Sandy Czech, of Sandstone, Randy Ayres, of Swanville, and Janis Lang, of Ham Lake; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Don. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
