Wayne Vaughan

October 23, 1945 — January 26, 2018

Wayne Francis Vaughan, 72, originally of Anoka, MN, died peacefully at his home in Crosslake,

MN, on January 26, 2018. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 5, at 2PM at

Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Family and friends are encouraged to visit the hour prior to

the service. A luncheon will follow at the Crosslake American Legion.

Wayne Vaughan was born October 23, 1945, to Francis and Elsie (Kramm) Vaughan. He was

raised and attended school in Anoka before enlisting in the United States Navy, serving as an

electrician during the Vietnam War. Afterward he attended Southwest State University,

graduating with a degree in sales and marketing. Wayne spent 29-years working in the Twin

Cities as a computer programmer for Unisys Corporation before retiring in 2006. An avid

reader, he was also an active member of his local model train club (NMRHA) and Central Lakes

Corvette Club, and enjoyed serving with the American Legion (BINGO!). But foremost he was a

dedicated and caring husband to his wife of 45-years; a proud supportive father to his two

children; and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren. He lived a successful life, traveled the

world, made many friends, touched many lives, and spent the final years of his life exactly as he

envisioned: living in a chain-of-lakes-home with his wife at his side, chopping wood and

building fires, boating, traveling, playing with his grandchildren, and enjoying his good fortune.

He will be remembered and missed by his best friend and wife Pamela; his children, Katie (Kyle)

Kummala of Ramsey, Charlie (Jennifer) Vaughan of St. Paul; his grandchildren Kaden Kummala

and Sailor Vaughan; and his little sister Marty Hayford of Pequot Lakes. His parents and older

brother, Edward, preceded him in death.

Luncheon following, at Crosslake American Legion.
