Wayne Johnson

Wayne Milton Johnson, age 55, of Moorhead, MN, passed away March 14, 2009, at MerittCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. A Memorial Gathering is planned for Saturday, April 4, 2009, from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.

Wayne Milton Johnson was born November 2, 1953, in Wadena, MN, the son of George L. and Dolores (Chapin) Johnson. When he was 3 ½ years old he fell out of his highchair on January 10th, 1957, he was taken to Gillette Hospital, then on March 4th to Glen Lake Hospital in Minneapolis. On August 1, 1959 he was able to return home. Wayne graduated from Staples High School in 1971. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 15, 1971. Following his tour of duty he returned to Minnesota and went to work for Bernies Off Sale Wine and Liquor Store in Moorhead. After that he worked for the MinnKota Recycling Plant in Fargo.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Johnson and an uncle, Burl Chapin. Wayne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Dolores Johnson of Staples; brothers, Richard (Tanya Sigred) Johnson of Lawton, OK, and Eugene (Michelle Serrault) Johnson of Rochester, MN; sisters, Kathy (Gary) McGillivray of Anoka, MN, and Doris (Darrell) Nelson of Baudette, MN; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
