Wayne Finch, age 65, of Ft. Ripley, died August 31, 2004, unexpectedly at his home. Wayne Bernard Finch was born August 8, 1939 in Brainerd to Everett and Katherine (Holsapple) Finch. He attended school in Brainerd. On April 10, 1958 he was united in marriage to Iris Killian. Following their marriage they lived in Mankato for a few years, moving to Thief River Falls where he drove truck for Artic Cat in the early 1970?s. They moved to Ft. Ripley in the 1980?s. Wayne was a millwright and a member of the Carpenters/Millwright Local Union #548. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter, fisherman and liked to snowmobile and ride his 4 wheeler.
Wayne is survived by his wife Iris, of 46 years; daughters, Kathy (Dave) Nelson of Menahga, Candy McCaleb of Ft. Ripley, Lecia (Steve) Tallman of Sequim, WA, Wanda (David) Maher of Quilcene, WA, April Brackin of Bemidji, Mona (Ron) Andersen of Randall; sons, Wayne (Shae) of Pillager, Marshall and Lucas both of Ft. Ripley; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Strong, Gayle Boucher, Jeanette Kahn; brothers, Curt Finch, Mike Finch, Steve Finch, Everett Finch, Gary Finch, and Louie Finch. Preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harvey.
Funeral service will be on Sunday, September 5 at 2:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel with Reverend Harvey Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Ft. Ripley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 4 from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel and again 1 hour before the service. Arrangements entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
