Warren "Digger" Kort, 71, of Pillager died at his home on Sunday, September 18, 2011. Visitation for Digger will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter starting at 4:00PM. Services will be held right after the visitation at 7:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
Digger was born on August 18, 1940 to Charlie and Edna Kort. He loved playing guitar and singing. Digger worked for 32 years in ground maintenance at Madden's Resort. He also helped to build Rock Lake Campground and was at Park Region Timber for nine years. Digger enjoyed cutting wood, keeping up his yard, and loved dancing.
Digger is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marlene; son, Gary (Angie) Kort of Pillager; step-son, Mark (Kirsten) Anderson of Spring Valley; son-in-law, Tim Etzler of Pillager; daughter, Sherrie (Ross) Beckler of Backus; special friend, Steve Bourassa of Brainerd; nine grandchildren, dancing partner, Dolly of Brainerd; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Arnold (Irene) Kort of Pillager, and Rueben Kort of Brainerd; sisters, Gert (Bill) Hirsch of Onamia, and Carol (Thornly) Williams of Idaho, and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Charlie Kort; step-daughter, Lori Anderson; brother, Arvid Edeburn; sisters, Vivian Hines and Jeanette (Pat) Simons.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
