Wanda Johnson

Wanda Adelle Johnson, 75, of Brainerd, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 5:00 PM, Saturday, March 29 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Pastor Joan Gunderman officiating. Interment will precede services at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery next to her husband. Wanda was born August 2, 1932, in Joice, IA, the daughter of Andrew and Henrietta (Tweed) Almelien. After graduating from Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, MN, Wanda furthered her education obtaining a degree from Waldorf College in Illinois. On May 30, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Johnson in Nashua, IA. The couple lived in DesMoines, IA and the Twin Cities before moving to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Wanda was a member of the Lutheran Church of Cross. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda will be missed by her daughter, Lisa (Tom) Jacobson, of Merrifield; her son, Chris (Shelly) Johnson, of Brainerd; and grandchildren, Adam and Annie Jacobson, Justin Brown, and Hailee and Riley Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
