Wanda L. (Poynter) Cestnik, 68, of Motley, passed away with family by her side Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. Services for Wanda will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Staples with Pastor Barry Klein officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather Friday evening at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples from 5-8 PM and on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Motley Public Cemetery.
Wanda was born on April 1, 1948 in Little Falls. She was the daughter of Theodore and Hazel (Tinkham) Poynter and graduated from Motley High School. Wanda spent her life giving of herself. She didn’t like to see others suffer and made sure she did what she could to help – through money or through Young Living Essential Oils. Wanda was renowned for her amazing work ethic and passion for serving others. She loved to find new, up and coming gadgets. Wanda was a maven. She enjoyed feeding people and trying out new recipes – a hobby she was able to apply at Tri County Livestock where she managed the kitchen. She enjoyed keeping her mind active; she did crosswords, reading, staying up on current events and playing Sudoku and she never turned down a lively discussion about politics. She respected others’ opinions while clearly expressing her conservative views. Wanda enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with and for her family . They were important to her and she never lit up more than when she was spending time with her grandchildren. She was loved and she will be missed.
Wanda is survived by her children, Veronica (Jim) Schulz, Natasha (Brent Beimert) Cestnik, Joshua Cestnik, Dustin (Christina) Cestnik, and Jacob (Amanda) Cestnik; twin brother, Wesley (Sharon) Poynter; brothers, Gary and Marvin Poynter; grandchildren, Taelor Mayry, Alix Peterson, Eric Schulz, Grace Schulz, Brittany Beimert, Halle Beimert, Madison Cestnik, Vincent Cestnik, Owen Cestnik, Josie Cestnik, Jada Gacksetter, Jera Smolik, Jesse Smolik, Jr., Joelle Blanchard, Addison Cestnik, and Paige Warren; and great-granddaughter, A’Mya Kelley.
