Vivian Violet Kjeldahl passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Pine River at the age of 89. She was a longtime resident born in Bungo Township, Pine River, on November 5, 1934. She graduated from Pine River High School in 1953.
After graduation, Vivian moved to Minneapolis where she applied the hard working, simple lifestyle ethic learned on the home farm. She trained as a keypunch operator working for a company called Investors, which was a data entry task. Later, she helped her sister, Gladys, and brother, Don, move from the family farm and get a start in Minneapolis after they finished school in Pine River.
Vivian married Lester Kjeldahl in 1968 and together they purchased Seven Lakes Resort on Lake Margaret. After the sale of the resort, they eventually purchased property in Pine River, looking forward to retirement in the area.
Vivian enjoyed outdoor work, painting, wood carving, and sewing. Early in their marriage, they were flea market vendors and continued with buying and selling in summer garage sales in Pine River when they retired.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Boquist and Francis (Mudick) Boquist; husband, Lester; sisters, Ethel (Boquist) Stimson and Helen (Boquist) Peterson, all of Pine River. She is survived by her sister, Gladys Boquist, Pine River; brother, Donald Boquist of Brookdale; and many nieces and nephews.
