Vivian Kittlesen

Vivian Leona Kittlesen of Crosslake, MN died on December 28, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on November 5, 1931, Vivian was one of nine children born to Emil and Mary (Kluxdahl) Brevik of Thompson, North Dakota. She graduated from Thompson Public School then attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. After moving to Minnesota, Vivian was employed by Greyhound Company in Minneapolis. Upon her marriage to Clifford Kittlesen in 1958 in Spring Lake Park, Vivian moved to Frost, MN. In Frost, she and Clifford owned and operated the State Bank of Frost and beginning in 1960, made annual treks to Happy Landing Resort on Cross Lake. In 1967, they purchased one of the cabins and built a new home in its place, moving there permanently in June of 1978 when they retired. At that time, they became members of Crosslake Lutheran Church. Vivian enjoyed keeping busy by working part-time and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent homemaker and cook, making Norwegian klub and kringla for her family every Christmas for as long as she was able to.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford and their infant son Dean Charles, sisters Adeline, Lorene, Doris, and Carol, brothers Marvin and Dennis, and several other relatives including special sister-in-law Naomi (Kittlesen) Van Domelen. She is survived by her children Sandra (Monte) Eggen of Alexandria, Connie Kittlesen (Mark) Cook of Saint Cloud, and Jeff Kittlesen of Crosslake, granddaughters Amy Eggen and Jordan Kittlesen, grandson Blayne Wessels, great-grandson Dylan Salgado, brothers Allan and Vernon Brevik, sisters-in-law Gloria Brevik, Helen (Kittlesen) Ramos, Karen Kittlesen, and Bobbie Spradley, brothers-in-law John Van Domelen and Joe Ramos, many nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Vivian was a loving and kind person who will be forever missed.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake with visitation beginning at 1:00 and the service at 2:00.
