Vivian Florence Horn, age 92, of Brainerd, MN went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday December 6, 2013. Her long journey through life began July 15, 1921 at Meadowlands, MN where she was born to Norvin (Sr) and Florence (Belknap) Norwood.
At journey's end she was reunited with her husband Clarence Horn, her parents, and siblings Ardeth Horn, Norvin Norwood Jr., and Guy Norwood who all preceded her in death.
Left behind to celebrate her life and treasure her memory are her children, Virginia (Joseph) Smoley, Ely, MN; Darrell (Lucy) Horn, Rochester, MN; Carol (Jack) Newman, Crossville, TN; and Bradley (Kim) Horn, Baxter, MN; as well as six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Norris (Phyllis) Norwood, Phyllis Ann (Gerald) Harden, Earl (Gailene) Norwood; brother in-law Daniel Horn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vivian worked for several years in Brainerd as a commercial seamstress, and also worked in the bakery of a local grocery. She was a member of the Brainerd (Heritage) Assembly of God Church for over 60 years, and spent many Tuesday mornings there quilting as part of the women's group activities. Gardening, trying new recipes, baking, traveling to family reunions, relaxing with crochet, embroidery and home sewing projects, playing beloved hymns on her treasured piano, and spending time with friends and family all gave her pleasure.
A memorial service celebrating Vivian's life will be held at the Heritage Assembly of God Church, Baxter, MN at 11 AM, Friday, December 13. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.
