Virginia Wasnie

Virginia Ann Wasnie, 75, of Baxter, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 20, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. A visitation will take place from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to services on Thursday at St. Francis. Interment will be at Baxter City Cemetery.

Virginia was born on December 15, 1945 to Leslie and Virginia (Bahma) Gendron in Brainerd, MN. She was raised in the Brainerd community and married Kenneth Joseph Wasnie on October 27, 1962. Together they had five children. Virginia raised her family with purpose, pride, and faith. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed reading, and loved to have fun with her family. Virginia will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Gene) Haverkamp, and Angela (Bruce) Kruchten; grandchildren Michaela Hart (Cedric Ford), Joseph Wasnie, Nicholas (Paige) Haverkamp, Megan (Nate) Adams, Kaitlyn (Mikinzie) Hines Fox, Justin (Amber) Mitchell, Alexander Wasnie (Kayla Ausland), and Kyle Kruchten (Monique Darton); 18 great grandchildren; siblings Beverly Leibold, Charles (Jonnie) Gendron, Leslie Gendron, Janice Mather, LaVonne (Tom) Paulson, Alta Gendron, and Blane Wasnie; and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ken (64); her children Jonathan (19), Ranae (41), and Michael (29); and her granddaughter Jhonna Loftis (33); siblings Phyllis (Marce) Welzant, Maxine (Bob) Marohn, Eugene Gendron, Vernon Leibold, Marilyn Gendron, Alice Gendron, Mary Jo Gendron, Tom Austin, Emmett Mather, and Sue (Bob) Huff.
