Virginia Steuber

Virginia "Ginny" Steuber, 97, of Crosslake died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Golden Horizons in Crosslake, MN. Services for Ginny will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN. Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 3:30 PM.

Virginia was born on July 26, 1915 in Princeton, MN to George and Caroline (Westblade) Weisbrod. Ginny graduated from Princeton High School in 1933 before receiving her BA from the University of Minnesota in 1946. She received her Masters Degree from Bemidji State University in 1974. Ginny drove the Red Cross Club Mobile throughout Europe during WWII, including the Battle Of The Bulge and the Forest of Aachen. Ginny was an elementary teacher at country schools at Pequot Lakes, MN, Austin, MN, and Des Moines, IA. Ginny also was a teacher for Robbinsdale School District #281 from 1957 until her retirement in 1983. She was an avid swimmer and cross-country skier. Ginny was an active member of AAUW.

Ginny will be sadly missed by her children, Betsy (Tony) Del Vecchio of Chadds Ford, PA, George (Patricia) Steuber of Phenix City, AL, and Carrie (Richard Rostad) Ruud of Breezy Point, MN; grandchildren, Brian, Sarah, Anthony, William, Jon, RJ Ruud, and Adam Ruud; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Caroline; husband of 66 years, William George Steuber; daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Steuber; sister, Lucille Oliver; and brothers, Charles, Louis, Robert, and Frank Weisbrod. Memorials are preferred to Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, MN.
