Viriginia “Ginger” Gunderson of Baxter, Minnesota, passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 83.
Ginger grew up in Willmar, Minnesota, with her parents, Harvey and Dina Spaulding, and her brother, Gene Spaulding (Judy). After graduating from Willmar Senior High School, Ginger worked for Ministers Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis, and later the Brainerd Credit Bureau, and she retired from the University of Wisconsin at Superior.
Ginger and Roger were married in the fall of 1960. Together they enjoyed 63 years of married happiness. Ginger and Roger were blessed with three children, Kelly (who sadly passed away in infancy), Jennifer (Eric), and Timothy (Katie).
Ginger and Roger were further blessed with four grandchildren, Andrew (Kelsey) and Thomas Stone and Cora and Christian Gunderson. Ginger was a fully engaged, fun-loving grandma, and her greatest joy was the time she shared with her children and grandchildren.
After retiring, Ginger and Roger enjoyed many winters along the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Ginger always loved being near the ocean.
Later in life, Ginger struggled with dementia, and Roger was her loving, dedicated, selfless caregiver.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date. Our wish is for any gifts to go to the Alzheimer's Association to support the search for a cure for this terrible disease.
Ginger was a very loving, caring, and beautiful soul, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. To remember her, please perform an act of kindness for someone today.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
