Virgil Meacham

Virgil Edward Meacham passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the age of 72.

Virgil was born in Outing, MN on March 24, 1939 to Marcel and Cora (Bottineau) Meacham. He grew up in Outing, going to Outing Rural School and Remer High School. After graduation, he worked in St. Paul at Terado while he lived with his aunt and uncle, Donna and Bud Meacham, and cousins, Darlene and Jim. Virgil married Bonnie Olson at Motley, MN on July24, 1958. The couple made homes in St. Paul, Aurora, Isanti, and Cambridge before moving to Motley in 1976. Virgil retired in October of 2010. He loved his family and had many good friends. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and visiting.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Judith (Robert) Swenson; son, Bruce (Lisa) Meacham; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Lonnie) Urban; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carlyce and Bill Remmers; brother-in-law, Glenn (Natasha) Olson' sister-in-law, Pearl (Forrest) Dingman; sister-in-law, Donna Meacham; and sister-in-law, Diane Meacham. He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant sons; brothers, Howard and Warren; sister, Irene; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services for Virgil will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services at the church.
