Violet M. Wohlert died February 6th,2019 at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples, Mn.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Violet Meta Wohlert was born to George and Meta (Villwock) Pokorney on February 19th,1922 at home
in rural Bertha where she also grew up. She attended country school graduating in the 8th grade. She
was married to Herman E. Wohlert on October 11th, 1941. She worked in sales, first at the Cutie Shoppe
and then at Montgomery Wards. During her retirement she loved to garden and her flowers were
always her favorite. She and Herman loved getting on the train to go visit their daughter’s family.
They enjoyed working the potato harvest at Moyer Farms. She enjoyed going to the England Prairie
Pioneer Days every year for 38 years. She enjoyed quilting and being a neighborhood Grandma with
some of the neighbors enjoying her quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, her brothers, Otto, Gordon and
Charles her sister Leona and son-in-law Bill Ross.
She is survived by her daughter Lonie Ross of Port Washington, Wi., Tim (Mary Kay) Wohlert of Wadena,
She was a proud Grandma to 4 grandchildren Erika (Mike) Spitz, Andrew (Sara) Ross and Paul Wohlert and Mark Wohlert. Violet also had 4 great
grandchildren Emma, Abby and David Spitz and Caitlin Violet Ross, and numerus nieces and nephews.
