Violet Marcel

Violet R. (Hildahl-Williams) Marcel, age 85, of Wyoming, formerly of Staples, passed away on October 31, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Services will be Sunday, November 11, at 3:30 PM, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:30. Burial is at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Violet was born on November 14, 1926, to Ted and Thilda (Hefte) Hildahl of Leader, MN. Violet worked for several years as a home health care aide for Cass County and many years for Ebenezer Society of South Minneapolis and the Cambridge Health Care Center, in Cambridge. Violet enjoyed traveling, needlework, fishing, golf, painting, making jewelry and lefse, and was an unbeatable Scrabble player.

She is survived by her children, Keith Williams of Brookfield, WI, Norman (Sandra) Williams of Coon Rapids, Dale (Sandy) Williams of St. Paul, and Diane (Jim) Nietfeld of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Michael, Carrie, Jennifer, Melanie, Tracy, Nathan, Michelle, Jonathan, Andrea, Scott, Katie, and Kristen; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Ramona) Hildahl of Yakima, WA and Byron (Lois) Hildahl of Spokane, WA; sisters, Rose Marie (Earl) Abel of Blaine, MN and Elaine Hildahl of Anchorage, AK. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Williams and Paul Marcel; her parents; and brother, Kenneth Hildahl.
