Violet Heiser

Vi Heiser, age 95, of Baxter passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Crosby Cuyuna Care Center. A celebration of Vi’s life will be Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 11 AM, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 415 Juniper Street Brainerd, MN. A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service, and a lunch reception to follow the service. It would be an honor to have donations in her name be made to the church.

Vi was born July 23, 1927, in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She earned her RN diploma through the Nations Cadet Nurse Program in Denver. She married Ernie Heiser in Casper Wyoming. They were married for 56 years. Together they lived in Laramie and Casper, Wyoming. Littleton, Colorado, and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas before moving to Baxter, Minnesota in 2004.

Vi was involved in prison ministries, The Inner-City Parish in Denver, Hospice Care, and Mother/Grandmother extraordinaire. Standing up for equality for all was the golden thread in her life.

 Vi was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, her son Robert “Bob” Heiser, and her granddaughter Erica (Campbell) Riedlin.

Vi is survived by her son Dr. John “Chuck”  (Nancy) Heiser of Grand Rapids, MI; her daughters Mary (Bruce) Baden of Deerwood, MN, and Sally (Reed) Campbell of Baxter, MN; grandchildren, John (Amy), Evan (Ciji), David Heiser, Susan (Alex) Pedigo, Nathaniel and Zachary Bollum, Laura (Alex) Naujokas, Jamie Baden, Macala Campbell , Monica (Nick) Rengel , and Corbin Campbell; grandson-in-law Andrew Riedlin; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Vi’s words to live by: “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and I could say, I used everything you gave me” author unknow.
