Viola Beach, age 92, of Brainerd, died Saturday, April 24, at St. Joseph?s Medical Center in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 27, 3 PM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Reverend Joe Fuhrer officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
Viola Berle Turner was born July 9, 1911 in Brainerd, to Sylvester and Minnie (Fuller) Turner. She grew up and attended school in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to Harold Beach in 1929. In addition to raising thirteen children, Viola worked for more than twenty five years in the laundry at the Brainerd Nursing Home. She was widowed in 1995, and had lived with her daughter, Darlene. She was a strong but gentle woman, who was always soft-spoken and found good in everyone. She was a wonderful cook, baking all her family?s bread from scratch. She was a fan of television sports, and was especially enthusiastic about all-star wrestling. In her later years she loved to shop at the local stores and mall.
Viola is survived by three daughters, Gayl (Fred) Jensen, Carol (Gary) Hines, and Darlene (Leo) Fuhrer, all of Brainerd; six sons, Ron (Sharon) Beach, of Brainerd, Ken (Ingrid) Beach, of Turtle Lake, WI, Richard Beach, of St. Cloud, Jerry (LeAnn) Beach, of Ramsey, Vernon Beach, of Brainerd, and Billy (Mary) Beach, of Spokane, WA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Donna Lindquist and Mardell Irwin; two sons, Darrel and Arvid Beach; and thirteen siblings.
