Vinson Hirst, age 46, of Backus, MN, died of congestive heart failure on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX, on March 11, 1974. He graduated from high school there then moved to Florida before ending up in the Pine River area working as a carpenter. Vince loved building things with his hands and had a huge love for animals. He worked at Trussworthy in Pine River for the last 6 ½ years. Last year Vince became part of the MN Adult and Teen Challenge family. He found peace, purpose and sense of belonging in God’s love.
Vince is survived by his two sons, Tyreese Hurd and Cylar Hirst, both of Pine River; brother, Eddie Wilson of Corpus Christi, TX; uncle, Bill (Diane) Hooper of Pine River; nephew, Jakob Wilson; niece, Jessica Wilson; special family friends, Craig and Brenda Anderson, Matthew and Joy Smoot, all of Pine River; his Trussworthy co-workers and his Teen Challenge faith family in Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Hooper.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Riverview Church, Pine River.
