Vincent ?Vince? Englund, 74, of Crosslake died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at his home. Vincent Dale Englund was born October 7, 1928 in Red Wing, to Lawrence and Pearl (Strothman) Englund. He grew up and graduated from high school in Red Wing. He was married to Joan Miller on November 19, 1949 in Red Wing. He worked for Northwestern Bell, now AT & T for 36 years, retiring in 1984. The couple moved to Crosslake in 1985. Vince enjoyed deer hunting and crappie fishing, and made an annual walleye-fishing trip to Canada with his friends. He enjoyed chopping the wood for home heating, and kept busy with projects around home. He was especially proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vincent is survived by Joan, his wife of 53 years; a daughter JoLynn (Jerald) Werre of Rochester; two sons Steve (Kimberly) Englund andTom Englund, both of Rochester; a sister Donna (Roger) Gilbertson of Beldenville, WI; a brother Larry (Caroline) Englund of Red Wing; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Vince was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 6, 2:00 PM at Crosslake Lutheran Church, with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating. Friends may visit at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, December 7, at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, MN. Memorials are preferred, to Crosslake Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
