Vienno Bingham, 82, of Brainerd died Friday, March 21 at Woodrest Health Care Center in Walker. Vienno Gladys Ritari was born December 11, 1919 in Brainerd, to Nels and Hilda (Fremling) Ritari. She grew up living on Gull Lake and in Brainerd, and attended school in Brainerd. During WWII she worked sewing parachutes at Meyer?s Laundry in Brainerd. She was married to Joseph Bingham in 1950, in Garrison. She continued to work at the laundry until her children were born and then stayed home to care for her family. She was widowed in 1979. Vienno was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. She enjoyed flowers, Sunday car rides, and swimming and boating with her family. She composed many oil paintings of various subjects.
Vienno Bingham is survived by two sons: Frank and Mike, both of Brainerd; and four grandchildren: Joey, Lori, Shelley, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Archie, Erving, and Reno; and a sister Violet.
Memorial services will be Sunday, March 23, 1 PM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Reverend Kurt Wied officiating. Spring burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
