Vickie Mccarty

Vickie Dee McCarty of Backus, MN, passed away September 24, 2022, in Brainerd, MN. She was born August 28, 1955, to Wyman “Jack” and Donna (Hasbrouck) Dwire in Park Rapids, MN. Vickie worked as a receptionist at the clinic in Pequot Lakes for many years until her COPD forced her to retire. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening (especially her flowers!!), but most of all she loved to spend time with her loved ones.

Vickie is survived by her children: Amanda (Eric) Myers, Cynthia McCarty, Mindy (Chad) Rogers, Davey (Becky) Schmid; grandchildren: Karter, Keagan, Alex, Alyssa, Joshua, Brooke, Nicholas, Cody, Morgan, Brent, Chandra, Dylan, Ethan, Ellie, Haley, Brittany, Brianna, Brandon and numerous others she considered her own; 19 great grandchildren; sisters: Bobbi Haverinen, Dawn (Dean) Haverinen, Pansi (Kevin) Millage, Twyla (David) Moore, Toni Dwire; many nieces and nephews; special friends: David and Janis Schmid, Dale and Robin Larson, Keith Melby, Gene and Rita Hamilton and Bev Crocker. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lawrence “Bud” McCarty; her parents; grandparents; brothers: Kirby, Mark, Dale, Kerwin; sister, Devonne; nephews, Donovan and Jacob; and niece, Bambi.

Services will be at 1 PM on Saturday, October 8, at Pine Mountain Gospel Church in Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
