Veryl Roberts

Veryl Frank “Doc” Roberts, 90, of Brainerd, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Services are planned for 11:00 AM, Monday, October 30 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor John Stiles. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.

Doc was born June 12, 1927, in Henning, MN the son of Frank and Mabel (Rennebohm) Roberts. He worked for the Henning Coop for a number years performing various duties including truck driving and bottling milk. In 1947, he was united in marriage to Vivian Anderson. The family made their home in Henning before moving to Brainerd in 1960. Doc began working for Meadowgold Dairy in Brainerd until 1963 when he started his nearly 30-year career for the Brainerd School District as Custodian and Bus Driver for Reichert Bus Service. He retired in 1992. Doc enjoyed wood-working and was very handy. He was a Mr. Fix It. He and Vivian were members of First Lutheran Church.

Doc is survived by his wife of seventy years, Vivian; children, Bruce (Thelma) Roberts, of Baxter, Greg (Diane) Roberts, of Brainerd, and Debra (Steve) Isackson, of Nisswa; grandchildren, Shon, Lori, Leesha, Lacey, Devin, Jessica, Angie and Pete; and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Vernon Roberts, Vera Olson, and Viola Flom.
