Vernon Marvin Verbeck

Vernon Marvin Verbeck passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 26, 2024 at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples, Minnesota. 

Vernon attended school in Nisswa, and later Brainerd Tech School for auto detailing. He worked as a farmhand at various farms around the Staples, Motley area. Vernon also delivered papers in the Staples, Motley area. 

Vernon enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering & auto mechanics. He loved animals and raised numerous dogs, cats, horses, and chickens at his hobby farm. 

He is survived by his life partner Nancy Lynn Slayton and her children; sisters Rose Wales, Viola (Bruce) Seeley, Mableann Cooper, brother-in-law Marvin Pierce, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Vernon is proceeded in death by his parents Marvin and Florence Verbeck, siblings Ormall Verbeck, Doris and Darwin Seely, Dale Verbeck, Ruby Verbeck, Pearl Pierce, nephew Jesse Pierce, cousin Randy Pierce, brother-in-laws Stan Mudick and Bazil Wales.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Lakewood Care Center for their loving care of Vernon. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
