Vernon Swanson

Vernon Carl Swanson, 84, of Fifty Lakes, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN. Private family services will be held with interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley, MN.
Vernon was born June 21, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Carl and Sigeri (Hermansen) Swanson. Following his honorable discharge from the United State Navy, Vernon worked for the city of Minneapolis. He retired and moved to the Fifty Lakes area where he has been a resident until his death. Vernon liked to spend time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and carving.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Olsen, of Fifty Lakes and Jackie (Steve) OBryan, of Fifty Lakes and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
