Vernon Leibold, Sr.

Vernon E. Leibold, Sr., age 89, of Brainerd, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society Bethany in Brainerd. He was born to Raymond and Harriet Leibold on November 7, 1924, in Brainerd. Vernon worked for Sears in Brainerd for 38 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a dedicated family man and was known to be a humorous poet.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters: Marilynn (Ray) Puetz, Dianne Villnow, Julie Miles, Heidi Strobel, Loretta (Willie) Pohlman and Karen (Gary) Kinney, all of Brainerd; daughter-in-law, Karen Leibold; son-in-law, Gary Eck; sister, Arlene Zaiser; 33 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy Eck; son, Vernon "Bobo" Leibold, Jr.; granddaughter, Kimberly; great granddaughter, Virginia; sisters, Elaine Wheeler and Nettie Christensen.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, December 13, at the Brainerd Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be 9 AM to 11 AM at the church.
