Verla Fortune

Verla Ceone Fortune, 80 years old, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the home of her home son, Terry Harris.
She was born on December 20, 1924 in Garrison, MN to Frank and Gladys (Ross) Benjamin. She was a member of the VFW Club and the Eagles Club.

She is survived by two sons, Daryl Ray (Dorlynne) Harris, Terry Harris (friend Brenda) all of Brainerd; one daughter, Sandra (Doug) Ellstrom of Lakeland, MN; one sister, Lurline Newman of Brainerd; seven grandchildren, Beth Cordes, Brian Ellstrom, Greg Ellstrom, Nicole Petersen, Daryl Almeida, Darrin Almeida, Dina Smith; thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rodney Fortune; three brothers, Veryl, Louis, and Dale Benjamin; one daughter-in-law Carol Harris and one grandchild, Donald Harris.

Services will be held graveside at Garrison Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, with Pastor Mark Bjorlo of the Journey North Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at 2 p.m. at the VFW in Brainerd. Viewing is available from 10 ? 11:30 A.M. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 15th.
