Udo Meyer

Udo ButchMeyer age 87, of Verndale, died Monday morning, November 28, 2005 at the Lakewood Hospital in Staples, MN. Funeral service will be on Friday 2:00pm, December 2, in the Alliance Church of Verndale, MN with visitation on Thurs. from 5-7, at Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Mr. Meyer was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Rheiderland Township, Chippewa County to Herman and Ida (Karsjens) Meyer and was baptized at Bunde Christian Reformed Church near Clara City, MN. He attended country school through the 8th grade. He married Lorraine Bush in1940, to this union two children Sandra and Sharyn were born. They later divorced. He farmed for many years and later became a carpenter and builder. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking. Butch has shared his life with Mary Ann for about the past 17 years. Butch is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Sandra (Maynard) Meyer, Rochester, MN and Sharyn (Richard) Erickson, Ham Lake, MN; step-children, Kenneth (Sandra) and DuaneRed(Donna) Olson of Sandstone, MN and Phil (Diane) Olson, Finlayson, MN and Barbara (Glen) Hamaline, Australia; an adopted adult daughter Betty Dougherty; brothers, Harry and Stanley(Virgene) Meyer, Montevideo, MN, Ernest (Ardyce) of Willmar and sisters, Alieda (Bruno) Asche and Hermina Schwitters of Clara City, Jeanette Meyer and Stanley Zondervan of Clara City, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
