Troy John Nygren, 35, of New York City, formerly of Pillager, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at his home. Funeral services for Troy will be Monday, August 22nd, 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Reverend Juli Sutton-Deem. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 21st, from 5 ? 7 pm at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will follow services at the Wildwood Cemetery.
Troy was born April 4, 1970 in Brainerd, son of John and Linda (Fornshell) Nygren. He graduated from Brainerd Community College after completing high school in Pillager. He was active in theatre and acting at BCC. He attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth to continue his devotion to theatre and the study of fine arts. He later moved to Ohio to join a summer theatre. In 1991, he changed pace and enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserves until 1994. Several years ago, he moved to New York to pursue his ever present love for the theatre and acting. He held various jobs and volunteered in his community. He recently had enrolled in Nursing School. Besides theatre, Troy enjoyed computers and traveling.
Troy will missed by his mother, Linda, of Pillager; father, John, of Pillager; sister, Leigh (Shannon) Peterson; his three nieces, Chelsey, Logan and Vanessa; his nephew, Tucker, all of Pllager; and his grandmother, Jane McHale, of Nisswa.
