Tina Marie Leonard, 47, of Brainerd, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Essentia Health – St. Joseph Medical Center. Services for Tina will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26 at Lakewood Free Church in Baxter with Rev. Brent Costello. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior.
Tina was born April 1, 1971, in Belleville, KS, the daughter of Jerald Lee and Rose Marie (Thrash) Burks. She lived in Ionia, KS, Osage City, KS and Fort Riley, KS before her family moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in November of 1985. She graduated from Brainerd High School before attending Central Lakes College. She enjoyed learning and was actively pursuing her Master’s in Christian Counseling online through Liberty University. Tina was not afraid to work. She began a career assisting the military by working in the naval recruiting office before being secretary for the Salvation Army. In addition, she mixed her love of decorating with business as a Home Interior’s Designer Salesperson. She also enjoyed her time as a PCA during the summer months while driving bus for Reichert Bus Service for the past 10 years.
In 2010, Tina married Brian Leonard. During her free time, Tina loved to spending her time outdoors – camping and four wheeling. She liked to tend to her garden, sew and make meals for her family. She volunteered her time driving for Teen Challenge and helping out at her church whenever she could. She especially enjoyed serving Sunday morning coffee at Lakewood. Her faith was important and she held a Bible Study in her home.
She will be missed by her husband, Brian; children, Nickolas Brent Stuart, of Brainerd and Alyson Rose Elaine Stuart, of Brainerd; mother, Rose Singh; grandchildren, Anton Marie Charfauros, Slater Clark, and Apollymi Eovon; siblings, Tawnia LeeRose Matchell, of Santa Rosa, FL, Tressa Rachel (Kenneth) Acres, of Hattiesburg, MS, Robert Domingo Palacio, of Henderson, NV, Joseph Manuel (BobiJo) Palacio of Kansas City, KS, Steven Burks, of Beloit, KS, and Edward Burks, of Beloit, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerald; daughter, LaToya AdessaMarie Burks; and grandson, Andreas Burks.
