Thomas Zetah

Thomas S. Zetah, 78, of Motley, MN died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his home, with his loving family around him. Services for Thomas will be 11:00AM, Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley, MN, with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5PM, Sunday, February 18th at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Motley Public Cemetery.

Tom was born May 14, 1939 in Staples, MN to Sylvester and Veronica (Schmidt) Zetah. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Motley High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Karen Anderson of Pillager on October 20, 1960 at St. Michaels Catholic Church. They lived on the family farm in Motley until they retired from farming in 1996, then moved to their river home in Pillager, MN. Tom and his two brothers, Jerry and Donny started and operated the KOA Campground from 1972-1988. He purchased and operated the S&N Hardware in Motley from 1979-2012, where he enjoyed helping people problem-solve their projects. He later renamed it Tom’s Hardware Hank. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, predicting the weather, garage sales and spending time with his children and grandchildren at his river home, where he hosted many bar-b-ques and fish frys.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry and Francis; two brother-in-laws, Bryan and Mike. Tom is mourned in passing by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen; children, Sue (Wade) Cantleberry of Motley, Gary (Vicki) of Tulsa, OK, Terry (Sherri) of Motley, Scott (Cindy) of Motley, David (Josetta) of Monticello, and Mark of Motley; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Donald of Brainerd; sisters, Barbara Nichols of Fridley, Rebecca Thielen of Minneapolis and Theresa Krueger of Maple Grove. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
