Thomas C. Spencer

Thomas ‘Tom’ C. Spencer, age 69, of Brainerd, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2022.  Tom was born on November 21, 1952 in Brainerd, MN to Clifford and Clara (Swanson) Spencer. He proudly served six years in the United States Air Force. After his military discharge, Tom worked for Clow Stamping as a Press Operator for 42 years. On September 2, 1999, Tom was united in marriage to Mary.

He was a kind and gentle soul who was proud of his military service and loyalty to Clow. Tom enjoyed peaceful days in the woods, deer hunting, fishing on the Mississippi River, working on outdoor projects with his brother Howard and being around family and friends.

Tom is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary, daughter Nadia Spencer, step children Teri Ellsworth, Mary Ellsworth, and Bruce Anderson, brothers Howard Spencer, Michael (Lisa) Spencer, Clarence (Kimberly) Spencer, sisters Lynda Spencer, Dianne Spencer, Dorayne (Thomas) Nelson, Sharon (Louie) Duran.  He is also survived by nieces Martine (Chris), Nicole (Dan), Amanda, Marissa and Kaelyn (Jake), as well as nephews Jason, Louie Jr (Cassie), and Marc (Jessica) and great nieces Abigail, Kassidee and Katherine and great nephews Anthony, Michael, Gabriel and Louis Andrew.

He is preceded in death by parents Clifford and Clara Spencer.

A memorial service for Tom will be held Friday December 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Military Honors will be presented following the service. Please join us in celebrating Tom’s life by wearing his favorite clothing of a plaid shirt and blue jeans.
