Thiel F. Horn, age 72, of rural Pillager, died Sunday, September 14, at St. Joseph?s Medical Center in Brainerd. Thiel Francis Horn was born August 6, 1931, in Bridgeman, to Emory and Carrie (Olson) Horn. He attended the Sunrise School in May Township. He moved to Chicago in 1952, where he worked in metal finishing his entire career. He was united in marriage to Stanalene Cichanski on October 10, 1959, in Oak Park, Illinois. Following his retirement in 1996, the couple returned to the Casino area. Thiel attended Casino Assembly of God Church. He loved the outdoors and nature, and enjoyed hunting deer, quail, and pheasant. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Thiel is survived by Stanalene, his wife of 43 years; a daughter, Vera Horn, of DesPlaines, IL; a son, Larry Horn, of Glen Ellyn, IL; three sisters, Annabell Patrick, of Baxter, Cena (Dennis) Stolz, of San Diego, CA, and Hulda Kay Dondelinger, of East Gull Lake; three brothers, Theron (Evelyn) Horn, of Cochran, John (Lucy) Horn, of New Buffalo, and David (Barb) Horn, of Pillager; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 19, 11 AM, at Casino Assembly of God Church in rural Pillager, with Reverend Mike Broberg officiating. Friends may visit Thursday, September 18, from 4-8 PM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be at Bridgeman Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
